A captivating tale of a boy destined to see the world, become obsessed with adventure, and start an eco adventure tour company that does good for people and the planet.

WAM is a story that started with a young boy whose destiny changed when his parents opened up a guesthouse in the family home.

It taught the boy many things; how to provide exceptional hospitality, what different nationalities from around the world liked and disliked, and that there was a big world out there to explore. All while spending endless hours going on adventures in the local countryside.

The first opportunity after the boy finished school he went off to travel and see the world. When he ran out of money he began working in tourism so he could continue travelling, working and living in different countries.

And so this continued for 15 years, around the world to 75 countries (and counting). From tour guiding in the sun, snow, water, wind, and rain, developing new tours, to promoting and marketing tour companies, all the time seeing and understanding different types of tours, different styles of delivering an experience. Watching, experiencing, learning, waiting…

WAM owners on their wedding day

One day whilst working as a tour guide at La Tomatina, a tomato food fight festival in Spain, he met Shanti, a half Balinese, half Australian beautiful soul who turned out to be the love of his life leading to a magical wedding in Bali and a new life in Australia living in one of the world’s most liveable and loveable places, Melbourne, Victoria. And so a new chapter began working in tourism exploring all the wonderful sights and experiences that Victoria has to offer. A love developed for the beauty and adventure to be found on the Mornington Peninsula, and so a lifelong dream was finally realised in this very special place and show the world the best of it. It’s also the place we raise our little family including our 2 year old daughter Indah and our adventure dog Crumpet, so we have a deep connection and commitment to look after country and community for future generations.

So what did this journey through tourism all lead to? To discover a new type of adventure tour company, with small group adventures that are fascinating and fun, tours that show you hidden gems that only locals know. Days out that don’t mean you are stuck in a vehicle all day but still take you along spectacular drives. Tours that are adventurous, active and teach you new skills. Tours that respect nature and culture, are good for the environment, support the community and taste amazing. And an adventure that connects you with nature and the destination you’re visiting in a way that will amaze you…
